How does social media engage communications?
People are able to participate in communications via the use of social media because it provides a platform for them to express their thoughts, personal and professional experiences, and tales. It makes it possible to share information and work together with members of an online community via activities such as publishing, commenting, and engaging with one another. Communication often takes place on social media sites such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Snapchat. People are able to maintain connections with one another and take part in debates on a wide variety of issues by utilizing social media as their primary means of communication.
How does social media challenge communications?
There are several ways in which social media may complicate communication. One of the difficulties is the overwhelming amount of information. A lot of individuals have a habit of becoming addicted to social media and spending hours upon hours reading through sites. Because of this, you could develop an unquenchable need for more time spent on the internet and on social media. The algorithms used by social media platforms are always being updated, which makes it difficult for companies and individuals to connect with the people they are trying to reach and maintain a conversation with those people. Additionally, since your social media presence will never really cease expanding, coming up with new ideas for content may be a difficult issue.
Is it inclusive?
People may express their thoughts and experiences, as well as make connections with individuals who come from a variety of backgrounds, on social media. People may express their thoughts and experiences, as well as make connections with individuals who come from a variety of backgrounds, on social media platforms, which can help make these platforms more inclusive. On the other hand, it is essential to keep in mind that not everyone has the same level of access to the Internet and social media, and it is possible that some groups are underrepresented or marginalized on these platforms. On social media, it is up to people and organizations to actively seek out other views and ideas, as well as to encourage inclusiveness in their communities.
The policies of employer social media communication expectations. What are the benefits of a diverse and inclusive PLN in social media sharing that understands where you are coming from with messaging that impacts the community?
It’s possible that employers have rules in place outlining the expectations they have for their workers’ social media interactions. These rules could include a set of instructions for proper conduct on social media as well as expectations for positively promoting the organization in a way that they describe.
When it comes to sharing on social media, having a Personal Learning Network (PLN) that is varied and inclusive may help give a range of viewpoints and ideas. This might assist you in gaining a deeper comprehension of the perspectives held by others and gaining knowledge from a variety of points of view. Your personal learning network may assist you in remaining informed and connected with the community at large by allowing you to magnify the perspectives of others. In addition, making sure that your message is effective and understood by a larger audience may be made easier for you if you have a personal learning network that is varied and inclusive.

I thought you made an interesting point about how people might develop a need for more social media content that may never be met. When you think about the shift in many social media platforms to quick 10-second videos that match Tik Tok format, it does create an almost like addiction to content. Reality is when you are watching these forms of videos for more than ten minutes, you’d be hard-pressed to recall 5 videos if someone was to ask. Another interesting point is the difference in access people have to social media. Not everyone has the internet, a computer, or a phone, making social media always not very inclusive to start with. As you had mentioned there are marginalized groups on the internet that may be hidden from the algorithm or not have access to start with.
Hi chikitlai:
I especially agree with your sentence “not everyone has the same level of access to the Internet and social media.” I always believe that even on the Internet or social media, their operating logic is the same as in real life. People have different social classes, of course, this is called “authority” in social media.
Nice post that you made! You clearly defined your logic and with carefully use of real-life examples. Your idea that people may have addicted in social media since they are overwhelmed by huge amount of information really enlightened me. This is a good idea that nowadays people do spend a lot of time in viewing social media, this could cause serious problem which influence their real life.
