PLNs provide a vehicle for lifelong learning for both personal and professional development by enabling individuals to remain relevant in a world of rapidly changing information. They consist of formal and informal networks of individuals with similar goals and interests who interact using digital tools to share information, learn from each other, problem-solve and collaborate.
